Ideal Homes is not just a home builder — they are history makers. They are located in Norman, Oklahoma but their influence does not stop there. This company extends their heart all over the state and the world.
Ideal Homes has been in business for 25 years and they have built more than 8,000 homes.
Commitment to Community
Ideal Homes gives 5% to the community with each build and has given back in a variety of ways such as participating in the local episode of Extreme Home Makeover and hosting auctions with the American Cancer Society. They even donate to the programs at the United Way of Cleveland County.
One particular fundraiser they love to be a part of is HOPE International, which is a microfinance network dedicated to alleviating world poverty by providing financial services for impoverished families. With a donation from the sale of a HOPE home, they are able to help more than 125 families in Third World and developing nations.
Commitment to Employees
This team not only gives back to the community, but they also value their employees. A few years ago, Ideal Homes was rated as one of the best places to work in Oklahoma. It’s no wonder why, especially since they make an effort to donate time and money to charities of their employee’s choosing.
Interview with Todd Booze, Owner of Ideal Homes:
Why did you start in home building?
Vernon McKown, the other owner of Ideal Homes, and I were friends in college. Right after graduation we partnered with long-time developer Gene McKown and started building homes. After we fell in love with first-time homebuyers we started Ideal Homes and have had the pleasure of building over 8,000 new homes in the Oklahoma City area.
What fuels your passion for giving back to the community?
First of all, it’s the right thing to do. It seems natural to support the community which has supported you. We plan on being in business for a long time. When you give back to the community you’re making an investment in the future stability of our community. A healthy community equals a healthy business climate.
The trends in the home building industry are always changing. What kind of advice do you have to offer other builders to stay on top in the industry?
Really listen to your customers. Often times, they will point you in the right direction. Homebuilding is a giving industry. I would encourage others to build relationships within our industry and foster an environment of learning from one another.
Commitment to Homeowners
Homes created by Ideal Homes provide homeowners with an innovative, efficient design.
In fact, the homes they build are rated on the (HERS) Home Energy Rating System scale from a 35-65. On this scale the lower the number is, the more money homeowners will save. According to their partnership with Environments for Living, if actual energy usage goes over the guarantee, Ideal Homes will pay homeowners the difference.
Before a homeowner makes the big purchase, they can visit the Ideal Homes showroom to pick out the right custom items to personalize their homes.
Even after the home is bought, the Ideal Homes team makes an effort to assist the new homeowner in understanding the homeowner’s manual and even schedules a follow up with the buyer to check on their well-being.
