Our Membership Gathering – January 2026
COHBA Kicks Off 2026 With an Incredible First Official Event
We were thrilled to welcome 70+ guests as we kicked off COHBA’s first official event of 2026—and what an unforgettable night it was.
The evening began by recognizing Past Presidents in attendance, followed by introductions from first-time attendees and new members, who shared insights about their companies and their connection to our industry.
A highlight of the night was presenting Spike Club pins to members in attendance who collectively represent an incredible 4,000 spike credits—a true testament to leadership and commitment within COHBA.
We then welcomed Bob Peterson, NAHB 2nd Vice Chair, to the stage alongside COHBA President Curtis MacCarty and OKHBA State Rep to NAHB, John Nail. The conversation offered valuable insight into how NAHB operates, the challenges they face, and the vital role advocacy plays in supporting and protecting our industry—the single greatest benefit NAHB provides to its members. Leadership opportunities and member resources were also highlighted during this engaging discussion.
The heart of the evening came as Jim Schuff and Tony Foust shared the history and impact of the House of Hope, a signature project of the Oklahoma Home Builders Foundation that truly embodies the spirit of our industry. Since its inception in 2000, the House of Hope has raised over $1.4 million.
This year’s House of Hope, built by Patrick Vorderlandwehr Homes, was nothing short of extraordinary. What began as a dream home evolved into one of the highest-fundraising homes in Foundation history. This marks the second time Patrick has poured his talent, vision, and heart into a House of Hope project.
An essential part of Patrick’s process is personally vetting charities that align with causes close to his heart—those rooted in compassion, service, and real community impact. Because of that dedication, we are honored to partner with five incredible charities that will benefit from both significant financial support and the intentional care behind every detail of this home.
The Cavett Kids Foundation continues to receive support through the Foundation-funded annual Christmas Party dedicated to their families. In addition, Patrick proudly presented $30,000 each to the following organizations:
- Bright Sky Ministry
- Infant Crisis Services OKC
- Logan County CASA
- Fostering Sweet Dreams
The evening concluded with full hearts, meaningful conversations, and new connections—an incredible way to begin 2026 together.
